John: Good morning, Ms SMith. I'm very sorry, but I haven't been able to finish it.
Teacher: Why not? Was there a problem?
John: Well, I've been really busy studying for the final exams. Also, I need at least seven hours of sleep to be able to rest properly and prepare for the exams.
Teacher: I understand that the final exams are important, but it's also important to complete all the assignments. Can you try to find some time to complete the homework before the end of the week?
John: I (afraid) I won't be able to do that, Ms Smith. The final exams are next week and I need to focus all my attention on them. I promise that I will do the homework after the exams are over.
Teacher: Alright, John. Make sure you hand it in by Tuesday.
John: I will, Ms Smith. (Thank) understanding.
